The mystery of the sword in the stone at the Abbey of San Galgano

AD - The mystery of the sword in the stone in the Abbey of San Galgano
On AD Italia, in the Travel section, an article was published in August 2024 entitled: "The mystery of the sword in the stone in the Abbey of San Galgano" by Patrizia Piccinini. The Abbey of San Galgano is a place of great charm, rich in stories and legends that intersect and are lost in the centuries.
Two of my photographs, among others, were used to illustrate the article. The first shows the beautiful chapter house next to the abbey. The second shows the nearby abbey of Montesiepi, known as La Rotonda (The Round) because of its shape, where the sword in the stone is kept.
The story of San Galgano is truly unique, and it seems that the more famous story of King Arthur and the sword in the stone was inspired by that of Galgano.
