Manu

Hello, my name is Emmanuele Carnevali, better known as "Manu".

I was born on September 26, 1999 at the Policlinico di Modena at only 24 weeks of gestation and this unfortunately has negatively impacted my brain development in the years to follow (for example: I have a bit of a hard time relating to others and I can't always tell it like it is in every way, but I'm working on it all the time).

I suffer from a (to my HUGE luck I might add) fairly mild form of autism which however (especially on the social and memory level) impacts quite significantly and I often struggle to be understood by my other peers, in fact I prefer to talk either with adults or with people maybe my own age who however REALLY understand me.

One of my greatest fortunes derived from being "special" as "normal" people say in a MOST boorish way is having superhearing. In what does it consist, you may ask? Mainly it is the fact that I "hear more than others," and therefore there are sounds and frequencies to which I am more sensitive; it is both a pro (e.g. musically speaking I can practically immediately recognize the pitch of a song, not exactly to say in which one it is because I music theory I have not studied it at all but for example I can reproduce a note correctly immediately after hearing it from a piano or other instrument with my voice) and a con, because with some sounds I do not get along so well (especially those at high frequencies) and I get nervous and sometimes I even get to have physical pain in my eardrum if I hear them.

At the moment I am doing an internship at the civil DMV in Modena, but it doesn't take up much of my weekly time. When I am free I enjoy: writing, talking with others, being on the PC, taking 2 walks and listening to music.
