Alpine panorama of Lake Verney between Italy and France

Alpine panorama of Lake Verney between Italy and France

1

DESCRIPTION

In the Alps, on the border between Italy and France but still within Italian territory, there is a wonderful place. Lake Verney lies at an elevation of 2,088 meters, not far from the Little St. Bernard Pass. It is a large alpine lake with a surface area of 20 hectares, whose waters range in color from green to blue. The basin that holds it is surrounded by a series of peaks and summits that crown it. Small streams flow down from the surrounding grassy slopes to feed the lake. In fact, when walking around the lake, you tread on soft ground thanks to the lush vegetation, which is always well-hydrated by the damp soil. Drawing inspiration from this feature, I sought to capture the essence of this truly fairy-tale-like landscape in a single shot. Using a 14mm ultra-wide-angle lens, I chose one of these small streams as the starting point for my story.
