DESCRIPTION
When a border is not just a line drawn on a map dictated by the partitioning among men of territory you can tell. When a boundary is natural it means that a river, a sea, a desert separate two distinct areas. When the natural boundary is delineated by a high mountain ridge things are even clearer. In this photograph taken from near the summit of Mount Cusna with a drone, we see the ridge separating Emilia (left) and Tuscany (right). On an early September day, a cloudy disturbance completely saturated the Emilia valleys, leaving the Tuscan valleys clear and sunny. A real border that makes a difference even if it were not drawn on a map.
