Our place in the great Nature where we can find peace
DESCRIPTION
Modern man unlike all other living beings lives in perfect conflict with Nature. He does not accept it for what it is by finding his own space in it. But he must mold, shape, limit and extinguish it at will. An attitude so arrogant as to be superior even to that of whatever deity one decides to worship: in the case the god of the day creates a natural scenario and leaves it to its own evolution. But we don't, we can do better, we must do better for our own benefit. So we land entire mountains to extract marble or minerals, we destroy forests to make ski slopes and ski lifts, we cull wild animals because they disturb us at the edges in our cities. The list of this insufferable attitude is practically endless.
At best we want to tame nature and then go and make money out of tourism, bringing people who know nothing about certain environments where they shouldn't go. Just another way of debasing it and making it a useless manifestation of our ingenuity.
Nature serves us as it is, it does not need our help. The flora and much of the fauna around us have inhabited this planet of ours for much longer than we have, and their evolution has been greater than ours. If only we would listen and observe them we would have much to learn.
Just don't want to go everywhere, or do anything, but find in Nature the space that is left for us, our place.
In that place that if it seems small and limited to many, which I have to go searching for from day to day, I can stop and rest with a light heart.
Like a child I lie down on the grass and look up to the sky and lose myself in the immensity of Nature. I am happy to be just a small sliver of humanity that finds the peace it needs in it.
