DESCRIPTION
The Royal Palace of Venaria Reale is a large historic palace surrounded by a huge park. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, it is one of the Savoy residences. Built beginning in 1658, it originally had the function of a recreational residence and base for hunting parties on the Piedmont moors desired by Charles Emmanuel II. Today it is also a very important museum venue visited by more than a million visitors in 2018.
