The gentle flow of water at the Bucamante waterfalls

The gentle flow of water at the Bucamante waterfalls

DESCRIPTION

When we think of a waterfall, what usually comes to mind is a significant drop where a river, stream, or lake plunges its waters with a roar. This is how rankings of the tallest waterfalls, those with the greatest water flow, and so on, are compiled. Yet there are other ways to be captivated by a waterfall, even when it originates from a small stream like the Rio Bucamante and doesn’t have large drops. The Bucamante Waterfalls, located in the Serramazzoni area of the Modena Apennines, are a delightful place to enjoy the magic of flowing water while surrounded by dense vegetation. It consists of a series of small cascades interspersed with several pools where the water continuously slows down and speeds up, stretching for a couple of kilometers. They invite you to stop among the rocks on the stream’s riverbed and admire the magic of the water flowing among the rocks, vegetation, and silence.
