The magic of the Riva di Campo Tures waterfalls in the Aurina Valley

The magic of the Riva di Campo Tures waterfalls in the Aurina Valley

DESCRIPTION

When we look at mountain profiles, we often think we are observing something immutable and eternal. Profiles and slopes created millions of years ago by the gigantic energies that shaped the crust of our planet. However, it is not all over, even if the natural environment in which we live continues to change relentlessly, albeit at a slower pace. One of the natural agents that has always fascinated me is water, formless and so malleable that it seems to have no consistency. Yet almost all valleys, gorges, and canyons were created by its slow flow over very long periods of time. This is also the case in South Tyrol, where the water that bursts forth in the last great leap of the Riva di Campo Tures waterfalls in the Aurina Valley has cut through the mountain, carving out a deep and fascinating canyon. It is a magical sight that we admire today and that took millennia to manifest itself as we see it.
