DESCRIPTION
South of Lake Iseo in the province of Brescia lies the Torbiere del Sebino Nature Reserve. It is a wetland of great importance created in an area where peat was once extracted. On a day of heavy rain, I visited this place when there was no one else around. The wooden walkways give the sensation of walking on the lake, the sound of rain pouring down all around and the silence. The scenery takes on a special charm, and even the wildlife tries as best it can to shelter from the downpour.
