In Search of Divine Light in Modena Cathedral

DESCRIPTION
Modena Cathedral is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture that has survived to this day without alterations or changes in style. When you enter this cathedral dominated by dim light and minimalism, where stone and marble form both the structure and decoration of the space, you are immersed in an atmosphere that leaves no one indifferent. When I took this photograph many years ago, an elderly priest with his prayer book had stopped to pray in a secluded spot where a little light filtered in. In the dim light, even a small light is enough to highlight a subject. So I noticed the marble balustrade reflecting some of that light and forming a guideline towards my subject. I took this picture as if to materialize the dialogue that was taking place at that moment between the priest and God in prayer.
