DESCRIPTION
You can run practically anywhere, at any time, without needing any special equipment or infrastructure. A pair of shoes, a trail or path to follow—that’s all you need. These are probably the reasons why I love running—something I do almost every day, continuing as an adult to do what came naturally to me as a child. I try to run in nature as much as possible, along a riverbank or on country roads. One thing is certain: being able to run along the trail in Val Ferret in the Aosta Valley that connects the Bonatti Hut to the Bertone Hut is an absolutely incredible experience. On the other side of the valley, the Grandes Jorasses and the Rochefort Ridge wind their way through the landscape, inspiring dreams. You make your way along the scenic trail that winds at an elevation of 2,000 m, with this landscape unfolding before your eyes bend after bend, revealing and concealing different angles of this imposing 4,000-meter Alpine range. I’m not saying you don’t feel the exertion, but you hike with your mind lost in wonder, captivated by such natural beauty.
