DESCRIPTION
In the high-altitude summer meadows at the foot of Crepa Neigra in Val di Fassa, a young foal stands beside its mother. The mare scans the horizon beyond the rocks, keeping watch to ensure there is no danger to her little one. A simple yet meaningful scene that struck me. In the summer of 2008, I was laboriously climbing that steep, grassy slope with my young children. I thought that, after all, we were doing the same job as parents: giving our little ones the chance to learn and gain experiences to grow, but under our loving supervision. It is reassuring to think that, in nature, the work of parents is the same, regardless of the species to which we belong.
